Friendly: Legia Warsaw 4-1 Świt Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki

In a friendly game against Świt Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki which took place on Wednesday afternoon Legia’s footballers managed to defeat 4-1 their regional rivals. After the end of the first half Warsaw team was leading only 1-0 after Maciej Iwański’s goal. Thanks to further two goals of Sebastian Szałachowski and one goal of Michał Efir in the second half the club from the capital of Poland was leading 4-0. A face-saving goal for guests was scored by Dariusz Zjawiński.

In a charity game organised for Wojtek, one of Legia’s supporters who’s very ill and who managed to create friendship between fans from Warsaw and Hague twenty-five years ago, players from the capital of Poland defeated 1-0 Dutch footballers. The only goal was stroke in the 38th minute of the match by Marcin Komorowski. Few players who are being tested by Legia’s coaching staff appeared in the match: Fall Mouhamadou, Osama Elsamni and Ahmed Toure. Polish national team is definitely down in the dumps. After a painful 0-6 loss in the game against Spain, our footballers were defeated 3-0 by Cameroon in Szczecin. Eto’o scored two goals for the team from Africa. The last goal was stroke by Vincent Aboubakar. There were three Legia’s players called up for this game, however only Maciej Rybus was given a chance to appear in the match. Warsaw team’s midfielder entered the pitch in the 46th minute.

There were about 23.000 people in the stands during the friendly game between Legia and Arsenal London on the occasion of opening the new stadium at Łazienkowska on Saturday. Due to an agreement which was signed by members of Warsaw club’s board and official association of Legia’s supporters (SKLW) on Monday nearly two weeks ago and which ended a three-year fans’ protest, Legia’s supporters began to galvanise their footballers again.

In the second match in France Legia drew 2-2 with Paris Saint-Germain. After the first half there was a goalless draw. The first goal was scored by Guillaume Hoarau in 75'. Polish national team played a friendly game against Bulgaria at Polonia’s stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday. Poland managed to beat 2-0 Bulgarian footballers. The first goal was scored by Jakub Błaszczykowski in the 42nd minute of the match and the second was stroke by Robert Lewandowski seventeen minutes after the break. Legia’s players, Maciej Rybus and Maciej Iwański, were on the pitch for 45 minutes.

Legia drew goalless its last friendly match against Swedish GAIS in Cyprus. Warsaw team's coach, Jan Urban chose to this game the strongest lineup that will probably play in the league match against Cracovia Cracow (Ekstraklasa) next week. Legia didn't manage to win its third friendly match whilst the preparatory camp in Cyprus. This time the team from Warsaw was beaten 4-2 by Russian FC Mordovia Saransk. Both goals for Legia were stroke by tested Fangzhuo Dong. Moreover, he scored the first goal in the match, so Warsaw team was leading 1-0. Unfortunately, after the end of the first half Legia's footballers were losing 1-2. In the 90th minute of the match a red card was shown by the referee to Tomasz Kiełbowicz. Legia was defeated 1-0 by Hajduk Split in the last friendly match of its preparatory camp in Mijas (Spain). The only goal was scored by Ahmad Sharbin, who properly executed a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. Warsaw team’s coach, Jan Urban, decided that his best players would appear on the pitch. That’s why people who gathered near the stadium were able to see those footballers whom Legia’s supporters used to watch in the autumn round. Unfortunately, there was no attacker on the field, because Bartłomiej Grzelak is ill, and Takesure Chinyama and Marcin Mięciel suffered injuries. In a friendly game which took place in Bydgoszcz Polish national team managed to defeat Greece 2-0. Both goals were scored by Ludovic Obraniak who debuted in the squad and who has been recently nationalised. In the first half there was only one Legia’s player on the field – Roger Guerreiro. He was replaced in the 75th minute by Wojciech Łobodziński.

In a charity match which was played on Friday evening Legia drew with Korona in Kielce 3-3. After the first half Warsaw team was leading 2-0 after Martins Ekwueme's and Roger Guerreiro's goals. After the break Legia scored another goal in the 52nd minute – Miroslav Radović made use of Marcin Mięciel's pass. In the 61st minute Korona's Paweł Buśkiewicz scored the first goal for its team. Soon after this situation Jan Urban decided to let some Young Legia's footballers play on the pitch.

Four Legia`s players called up for the friendly against Greece

Four Legia’s footballers have been called up for the friendly game against Greece which takes place at Zawisza Bydgoszcz’s stadium on 12th August. National team’s coach, Leo Beenhakker, called up 31 players including: Marcin Komorowski, Jakub Rzeźniczak, Jakub Wawrzyniak and Roger Guerreiro. After Ekstraklasa’s first fixture Beenhakker will choose the final team for the match where there’s going to be 18 to 20 footballers.

At 10.30 a.m. began a friendly game between Legia and Wisła Płock. The match was played at Łazienkowska. In the stands there were 200 supporters. On the field we were able to see footballers who didn't have a chance to play in the Thursday confrontation against Georgian Olimpi Rustawi.

As we informed you a few days ago, Legia plays a friendly game against Wisła Płock on Saturday. The match begins at 10.30 a.m. Tickets will be sold in the box offices at Łazienkowska since 9 a.m. tomorrow. Supporters will be able to see the game from the "Kryta" stand (D, E and F) perspective. We remind you that to see the match there’s a necessity of possessing fan's identity card. Season tickets are not valid for this game.

"We'll see if the results which we achieved in the friendlies transpose to official, important matches. Almost all my players have experience in the European games. My doubts refer only to two footballers – Adrian Paluchowski and Krzysztof Ostrowski. They didn’t play too much in the league, so we'll see how they're going to cope in a such match" – said Legia's coach, Jan Urban.

Legia is going to play a friendly game against Korona Kielce

According to Korona Kielce's official website, there’s going to be a friendly match in Kielce between Korona and Legia on 24th July at 7 p.m. Ticket profits will be given to the family of Sławomir Rutka, the footballer of both clubs who died tragically. "The board of Warsaw club answered our request very positively. We hope that there will be lots of fans in the stands" – said Paweł Jańczyk from Korona's marketing department. A single ticket will cost 10 PLN. It's not very probable that Legia will go to Kielce with its best players, because one day earlier Warsaw footballers will play a match in Tbilisi against Olimpi Rustawi.

There was a friendly game in Łódź between Widzew and Legia on Friday which was watched by 4000 viewers. The match finished with a draw 1-1. The first goal was scored in the 9th minute by Artur Jędrzejczyk after a centre from a corner. RTS’s footballers equalised four minutes after the break. Radosław Matusiak scored the goal. Legia has won in the last friendly match in Austria against Zalaegerszegi TE from Hungary. In 17 minute Adrian Paluchowski shot first goal and it was the only one in the first half. After 15 minute break, Darko Pavicevic shot an own goal. The last goal shot also Paluchowski in 61 minute. Legia was definitely better team during whole match. Legia won next match played in Austria. Today Legia won with Varteks Varażdin from Croatia 3-2. First goal scored Maciej Rybus in 7 minute. 3 minutes later scored Goran Mujanović from Varteks. Next two goals shot Legia and after first half the result was 3-1. Seven minutes before the end of competition, Sasa Hojski scored last goal. Legia won first friendly game in Austria. Our team defeated FK Kubań Krasnodar from Russia 2-1. First goal was scored by Andriej Topczu (Kubań).
